ISSUE: The main part of this site was hacked in May 2010. It was infected with an advertising program that popped up ads to unprotected visitors. The hacker entered the site via insecure FTP transfer by one of our users.

SOLUTION: We no longer allow users to transfer files via insecure FTP, so this cannot happen again. In destroying the virus, we voluntarily destroyed the entire site. The site was hundreds of hours in the making, so it is presently unknown exactly when it will be rebuilt. All of the photos, forum posts, and family trees have been preserved. We do intend to continue to pay for the domain and the hosting, and intend to rebuild the site.
